Culture and history.
Didyma (Didim) is located in the village
of Yenihisar. 4 km Inland from the coast called Altinkum (Golden
sand) and 15 kms south of Akköy, near Soke. Didyma was actually a
sacred site and not a city, in whose centre was a great temple built
in the name of the sun god Apollo. Read more about Didim and ancient
Turkey at Wikipedia here (Opens in new window)
The locals are very friendly and welcoming, making you feel at
home, and more often than not speak good English (and are eager to
learn more!). The area is green and peaceful with an easy access
